Big Brothers Big Sisters was very excited to host our first annual Dine for Kids' Sake event. Chef Sarah Grueneberg, owner of Monteverde Restaurant & Pastificio in Chicago, came to Peoria as the celebrity chef.
Sarah was a runner up on Bravo’s Season 9 “Top Chef: Texas". She was a member of the award-winning culinary team at Spiaggia, Chicago’s only four-star Italian restaurant helmed by James Beard Award winner, Chef Tony Mantuano. Monteverde has received acclaimed reviews from various outlets, including three out of four stars by The Chicago Tribune. In 2016, Monteverde received numerous accolades including: one of Food & Wine’s “America’s Best Restaurants, ” the “Worth the Wait” award in Chicago Tribune Dining Awards, and named one of Chicago Magazine’s “15 Best New Restaurants.”
The evening with Chef Grueneberg consisted of a 4-course custom, seasonal menu with wine pairing at The Warehouse on State. Tickets were $100 per person with only 200 tickets available.
2017 Dine for Kids' Sake will take place this October! More details to come later!
